Cooper Lorsung is a PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University where he works on applying machine learning to physical systems.
Before CMU, he received a Masters of Engineering in Computational Science and Engineering at Harvard University in 2021 where he was advised by Weiwei Pan in the Data Towards Actionable Knowledge lab.
He received his Bachelors of Science with Honors in Engineering Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he also received the Robert E. Hetrick Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award.
